1.Meets product demoulding requirements
The parting surface is also the surface on which the product can be taken out of the mold smoothly. Therefore, the position of the parting surface should be selected at the position with the largest cross-sectional size of the product. This is a basic principle.
2. Conducive to demoulding
Generally, the mold release mechanism of the mold is in the movable mold, so when selecting the parting surface, the product should be left in the movable mold as much as possible after the mold is opened. Therefore, for some places that may stick to the fixed mold, we often add a fixed mold to assist the mold release mechanism.
3. Shape of parting surface
General products often use a parting surface that is perpendicular to the movement direction of the injection molding machine. In special cases, parting surfaces of other shapes are used. The shape of the parting surface is based on the principle of easy processing and demolding. Like a curved product, the bending curvature must be based on the parting.
4.Ensure product appearance and quality
Do not choose the parting surface on the smooth outer surface of the product. Generally speaking, the appearance surface is not allowed to have clips and other lines that affect aesthetics; for some products with concentricity requirements, all parts with concentricity requirements must be placed on the same side to ensure their concentricity.

When the parting surface is used as the main exhaust, the parting surface should be designed at the end of the plastic flow to facilitate the exhaust.
6. Meet the requirements of clamping force
The lateral clamping force of the mold is relatively small. Therefore, for large products with a large projection area, the direction of the large projection area should be placed in the direction of the front and rear mold opening and closing, and the smaller side projection area is used as Lateral typing.
Determination of orientation
When determining the orientation of the product in the mold, the selection of the parting surface should try to prevent the product from forming side holes or side buckles, and avoid using complex mold structures.

When selecting the parting surface, the mold should be divided into easy-to-machine parts to reduce the difficulty of machining.
9.Considering the lateral mold opening distance
Generally, the distance for lateral mechanical mold opening is relatively small. Therefore, when selecting the parting surface, the direction of the long core distance should be selected in the direction of opening and closing the front and rear molds, and the short direction should be used as the side parting.
10.R typing
For mold design parting, many products have a full circle of R angle at the parting surface. At this time, we must consider that the best parting of R cannot appear on the sharp side.
